Lead Pastor

Pastor Steve Paterson and his wife Cathy have been life long residents of the Quinte area. Steve was born and raised in Trenton while Cathy moved to the area when she was a young girl.

Steve has been serving as Pastor of New Hope since May of 2013. Prior to being called into ministry, Steve and Cathy attended New Hope for several years serving in a variety of Ministry roles.

Steve has a musical background and has been involved in Christian Music Ministry for over 30 years. Steve has traveled across Canada and into the Southern States ministering through Christian music.

Steve attended Brockville Bible College and is currently enrolled in the Directed Study Program through the Brethren in Christ.

Steve and Cathy have three children Tera, Joel and his wife Amy, Chad and his wife Meagan. They are also grandparents to three girls Hailey, Natalie, and Scotland and twin boys Charlie and Abel.

Steve and Cathy have a passion for the lost and extending God’s grace, forgiveness and saving power of the Lord Jesus Christ

Pastoral Resident

Peter is serving as part of the BIC pastoral resident program.

Peter and his wife Carolyn have been attending New Hope since 2011. In that time, Peter has served as a board member, worship leader and a lay pastor. He began his residency in September, 2018.

Peter attended Wycliffe College and Tyndale Seminary.

He’s the proud father of three girls. Naomi and her twin sisters Charlotte and Norah.

Peter has a heart for teaching.

Jim and his wife Kim have been attending New Hope for quite a number of years.

Jim has served on the church board of directors and leads and Adult Bible Fellowship group.

Jim and Kim have five adult daughters and a teenage son.

Jim has a heart for relationship building.

Rick Langstaff

Lay Pastor

Rick and his wife Bonny have been attending New Hope since 2013.

Rick is a regular in the preaching rotation at the church and leads and Adult Bible Fellowship group. He also serves as the director for a ministry to Haiti called New Mercy Ministries. Rick has a heart for evangelism.
